This is the lot that we built on in December 2012.
Setting trusses on house.
Busy nailing shingles before the snow storm hits.
Installing insulation before sheetrock.
Showing off the finished front exterior.
The roof is complete!!!!!!!!
I think we overworked them!
Some of the volunteers with the recipient family.
Footing/foundation formed for one of the 2013 houses.
Some of the locals residents helped to mix the concrete for the footing/foundation.
Placing the concrete in the forms.
It will be nice to have the footing/foundation in place so that we can just start building as soon as we get there!

We have been working on the planning for this years project and decided that we should probably update what we have been up to since the last post.
We took a group of 17 people last year and built a home in just 3 1/2 working days! It snowed about 4 inches on New Years Eve, but we had the house shingled and dry so that we could work inside and stay warm. We were able to get the sheetrock hung and a tape coat on before we turned it over to the family. It was a lot of work, but what a great feeling of accomplishment when it is all said and done!!
This year Stuart went down at the end of October and worked with some of the locals to form and pour a footing/foundation for one of the two houses that will be built this year. The locals are going to help the family that lived next to the house we built last year to tear down the pallets and tin roof that was their home, and pour a foundation for them so that we can get started as soon as we get there this year. We are planning on building 2 homes this year! We hope it all works out!
We are going to post the Application and information for the projects here on the blog, so if anyone is interested in participating or donating, they will be able to get the information right here. We will also be posting some pictures from last year and earlier this fall.
If anyone has questions, please feel free to call Stuart @ (801) 940-0963 or Carol @ (801) 771-0232.
