Bernardino and Benita's house when we first got there. They tore down their existing house two weeks before we got there and moved in to the block room. Neftali and some of the locals did the footing/foundation for us!

To keep everybody as busy as possible, we had some other projects. We painted the exterior of the house that we built last year. We affectionately called it the "Smurf House"!

We got the floor finished part way through the second day.

WOW! What a great trip we had this year! 34 of us went this year and we were able to build 2 homes. Since we have returned, Neftali and the families have completed the painting, plumbing and put in some cabinets, light fixtures and carpet. The homes are really looking nice and everyone who went has a great feeling of accomplishment. We are going to post a few pictures. A video that one of the members of the group put together puts into perspective what we really do when we go on these expeditions. We built two homes this year and we already have identified two projects for 2014, but it is too stressful for us to take that many people and feed and keep materials and projects running smoothly, so we are going to try to take two expeditions this year. The first one will probably be in September (middle to end), and the second one will be at the normal time between Christmas and New Year.

There have been many express that they want to go this year. We will be posting two separate applications and we will allow those that get their applications in first to have first choice. We need to limit the number of participants to no more than 25, so if you want to go, please get your applications and deposits in quickly.
